Every month, we give you a behind-the-scenes looks at our global work and a glimpse into a day in the life of those we serve around the world.

We call it our Global Health Experience.

This informational session gives attendees a deeper appreciation of our humanitarian mission and what it takes to create a healthier world. Almost without fail, people end up saying something like: "I thought I knew who you were, but this time together really opened my eyes to all that you're doing locally and globally--and my role in helping you achieve your mission. I'm excited to get involved!"

You can attend the Global Health Experience on Thursday, July 16, from 12 noon- 1 p.m, at our Global Distribution Center in Kansas City, Kansas. Lunch is provided, courtesy of Schlotzsky's. Space is limited.

You'll get a sneak peek at our "Tools for School" initiative at this particular Global Health Experience. We'll will be preparing the assembly areas for another volunteer group, who is helping us stuff 8,000 packpacks over a two-week period for disadvantaged kids in Kansas City and beyond.

Pristine Day Greets Golfers at Kauffman Classic

What do you get when you combine 100+ golfers, a 75-degree day, a challenging golf course, and lots of fun? Answer: The Kauffman Golf Classic.

Wonderful weather, great food and fun golf games greeted more than a hundred players at the 15th annual Ewing M. Kauffman Golf Classic -- a charity golf event held at Oakwood Country Club that benefits the humanitarian work of Heart to Heart International.

No one recorded a hole-in-one, but there were plenty of close calls. Many teams took advantage of the opportunity to score an ace (wink, wink) or feel like Tiger Woods on the boom-boom drive hole.

The winning score was 12-under in the first flight and 5-under for the second flight.

All funds raised from the Kauffman Golf Classic support Heart to Heart's efforts to restore communities to health.

Heart to Heart Commercial: Got Game?

In the midst of a mounting crisis around the world, Heart to Heart is offering an escape from the worries of life through the game of golf. Every year, we put on the Ewing M. Kauffman Golf Classic at Kansas City's historic Oakwood Country Club. This year's event takes place on Monday, May 18.

We are looking to round out our competitive field of golfers. To promote our event and attract a few more foursomes, we turned to two local firms for help.

First, Gaut Media (pronounced "got") produced a snazzy one-minute video for us free-of-charge. Then, Professional Emercials, run by Heart to Heart alum Lori Ketterling, offered its services pro-bono, so we could target locally based companies and professional services with the video.

Kauffman Golf Classic (Update #2)

The course at Oakwood Country Club is groomed. The sponsors have signed on. Now all that's missing is you and your foursome.

The competitive field of golfers at the 15th annual Ewing M. Kauffman Golf Classic is filling up fast, but there are still a few slots open for this charity golf event, which takes place on Monday, May 18, at one of Kansas City's oldest and most prestigious country clubs.

This event helps Heart to Heart restore communities to health. One way we do that in Kansas City is through our "Tools for School" initiative, which provides thousands disadvantaged students with a new backpack full of essential school supplies and health information. Since this initiative began, more than 130,000 kids have started the school year on the right foot.

Registration begins at 11:00 a.m., we serve lunch at 11:30, and the carts start rolling at 12:30 p.m. Be sure to stick around for the 19th Hole Reception after your round of golf.

Excitement Growing for KGC

We're just five weeks away from the opening of the Ewing M. Kauffman Golf Classic, and we're seeing a lot of excitement from sponsors and golfers alike.

The 2009 Kauffman Golf Classic (KGC) will take place on Monday, May 18, at Kansas City's historic Oakwood Country Club. Registration begins at 11:00 a.m., lunch is served at 11:30, and the starter's horn blows at 12:30 p.m.

This charity golf event benefits Heart to Heart's efforts to restore communities to health. We work with dozens of local agencies, enhancing their efforts to enhance health among Kansas City's underserved populations. We also help locally through our "Tools for School" initiative, which provides a backpack full of essential school supplies to thousands of disadvantaged students in the region.
